The story of everyday survival of the traditional sea hunters of the Bering Strait in the Far East of Russia is enriched with animated Inuit myths that at times prevail reality. This is a visually impressive cinematic parable about the vitality of the ancient Arctic culture.

Quezada returns to their inhabiting a landscape, this time along the Mohawk Trail, not far from their home in Massachusetts.

Ng’endo Mukii further exposes the patriarchy engrained in our society with her film documentary titled ‘Kesho Pia Ni Siku’, which chronicles a Black-owned small business called Kanyoko Fabrics & Designs, run by Njeri Mereka, her mother. Kesho Pia Ni Siku, which means Tomorrow Is Another Day’ in Kiswahili, is part of Stories In Place, a collection of stories that chronicle small businesses as they navigate a world in flux. In an attempt to analyse Chris Kennedy’s ‘Watching the Detectives’, a researcher dives into a massive archive of media produced after the Boston attacks. Her online wanderings offer a performative exploration of the history of critical thinking and the ruthless politics of truth production.

Introduction by Barbara Zecchi, Director of Film Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Professor of Iberian Studies in the area of Visual and Performance Studies. Professor Zecchi's scholarship encompasses Gender Studies, Aging Studies, Feminist Film Theory, Adaptation Theory, and Videographic Criticism.

A noisy street corner in Alexandria, Egypt, a dirt lot surrounded by chain link, is the training site of Egypt’s most elite champions: female weightlifters. Fifteen-year-old Zebiba (Arabic for “Raisin”) has been training here she was 9 with Captain Ramadan, who coaches female athletes who go on to be Olympic Gold Medalists and World champions. Can Zebiba be next?

PICTURE A SCIENTIST chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights.

A deep dive into the discomforting world of YouTube and online conspiracies, that challenges traditional notions of what documentary cinema is, or should be.

Trans activist and politician Indianara Siqueira is the mother of a homeless shelter for trans sex workers in the center of Rio called Nem House. An occupied squat, the house faces impending eviction. Indianara invades a colonial palace in downtown Rio to bargain with the city. As Brazilian democracy crumbles, she fights to save her community from the uncertain streets.
